The Greater St. Louis Jazz Festival

Thank you for the inquiries concerning this year’s Jazz Festival. The University of Missouri-St. Louis is committed to the health and safety of our entire community. As such, guided by local, state, and national health authorities concerning the COVID-19 pandemic, we have decided to cancel the Greater St. Louis Jazz Festival 2021. We do this out of an abundance of concern for the well-being of students, school participants, musicians, patrons and staff.

We look forward to next year’s festival and your continued support. This festival is designed to support the development of participating schools’ music programs. Our goal is twofold: inspire students and band directors through the experience of receiving professional feedback from clinicians and adjudicators, and to provide an opportunity to experience performances from world class jazz musicians. Throughout the past 15-year history of UMSL hosting the Greater St. Louis Jazz Festival, more than 535 schools have participated, reaching over 12,000 students. See you next year.
