Exploring the dramatic and colorful world of the classical stage, UMSL Opera Theatre provides students with the opportunity to take part in a grand tradition of musical excellence. This audition-based ensemble serves as a training ground for young singers, providing them with the vital skill sets needed to become competitive and dynamic solo performers. Productions have included numerous multi-lingual scene programs and complete operatic works. Opera Theatre has grown into a sophisticated performance group that has also delighted audiences with full and double cast productions of The Mikado, Die Fledermaus, The Elixir of Love, The Marriage of Figaro and Dido & Aeneas.
