Open to all students regardless of major.  The course is designed for those students who have advanced performance skills on standard wind and percussion instruments.  Primarily an undergraduate ensemble and the University's official ceremonial band, the Wind Ensemble is guided by a philosophy which seeks to expose students and audiences to literature of the highest quality written for wind and percussion instruments.  Through the rehearsal and performance of this diverse repertoire, students are exposed to a wide array of compositional techniques, rehearsal processes, and expressive possibilities.  The Wind Ensemble also provides opportunities for studying music of various cultural and historical styles while refining critical listening skills, reading skills, and developing analytical thinking.
