The Symphonic Band is a large instrumental ensemble open to University students (regardless of their major), faculty, staff, and community members.  The band performs standard wind literature that covers a range of historical time periods from Baroque to the present.  Original literature as well as transcriptions, marches and music from the stage and screen are programmed.  Through the rehearsal and performance of this diverse repertoire, students are exposed to a wide array of compositional techniques, rehearsal processes, and expressive possibilities.
