UMSL Music BuildingThe Department of Music is housed primarily in the Music Building, located on the UMSL South Campus on Natrual Bridge Rd.
From I - 170, travel east on Natural Bridge Road. Approximately 50 yards east of the North Campus entrance, the Music Building is located on the right. The Music Building contains offices, classrooms, listening laboratory, keyboard laboratory, music technology laboratory, student practice rooms, and the choral rehearsal/recital hall. Instrumental rehearsal areas, faculty offices, and applied instrumental studios are housed in the Villa Wing of The Provincial House, also located on the UMSL South Campus.
Touhill Performing Arts CenterDesigned by the architectural firm of world-renowned architect I. M. Pei – Pei Cobb Freed & Partners – the Blanche M. Touhill Performing Arts Center has become one of St. Louis’ new landmarks. The Center brings the performing arts to the University of Missouri-St. Louis and to audiences from the St. Louis area and across the Midwest. University of Missouri-St. Louis students and faculty have opportunities to display their talents in a world-class performance hall that also serves as a cultural classroom for the community. The Touhill Performing Arts Center is objective evidence of the University of Missouri - St. Louis' vision for the future. The PAC will lead to stronger academic programs and new cultural experiences for all University of Missouri-St. Louis students and stimulate civic cultural and economic growth in north St. Louis County and the region.
Touted as a world class performance hall and cultural classroom, it is both a community jewel and the heart of the UMSL campus. Located adjacent to the North Campus Metro Link Station, construction of the Performing Arts Center was begun Spring 2000.
