Orchestra
is open to all students and staff at UM- St. Louis with orchestral experience. Members of the Chamber Orchestra present concerts several times each semester. Repertoire includes a variety of musical styles with primary focus given to music from the Baroque and Classical periods. In addition to standard concerts, the Chamber Orchestra participates in collaborations with other talented students and faculty. In 2000, the Chamber Orchestra featured the talents of pianist Robert Ray, Coordinator of Keyboard Studies at UM-SL. An additional collaboration was with the UM-SL University Singers in a presentation of Gabriel Fauré´s Requiem. Beginning in the fall of 2000, a new collaborative relationship was established with the internationally award winning Arianna String Quartet. The teaching and performance experiences of these four new music faculty members bring the potential for enhancement to the community-at-large and to every student musician at UM-SL.
